FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. We’ll start by reviewing confidentiality and answering any questions you may have about the therapy process. We will ask about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any important background information that will help us better understand your experiences.
This is also your chance to get a sense of our style and see if it feels like a good fit for you. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll go at your pace. Some people leave their first session feeling relieved, while others may feel a bit emotional or reflective as we open up important topics.
By the end of the session, we’ll talk about a plan for moving forward, including whether this relationship feels like a good fit for you, how often we might meet, and what approaches could be most helpful for your needs.
The number of therapy sessions you’ll need depends on your goals, the concerns you’d like to address, and how you respond to the therapy process. Some people come in for a few sessions focused on a specific issue, while others choose to work together over several months or longer to explore patterns and make deeper changes.
We’ll check in regularly about your progress and adjust the plan as needed. Ultimately, therapy is a collaborative process — we’ll decide together when you feel ready to conclude or take a break.
Yes. What you share in therapy is private and protected by confidentiality laws and professional ethics. This means we will not share your information without your written permission.
There are a few rare exceptions where we are legally required to break confidentiality to keep you or others safe — for example, if there is a risk of serious harm, concerns about child or vulnerable person in care, or if we are required by a court order. We will review these limits with you in our first session so you know exactly how your information is protected.

My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I work with older adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management, procrastination, assertiveness, relationship and communication Issues, cultural and career transitions, self-esteem, and self- discovery. Whether you're facing a major life transition or simply feeling stuck, we can work together to help you discover your strengths and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
A personal note: I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first time. My goal is to make that first step feel easier by offering warmth, compassion, and genuine curiosity about your story. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth, and it's a privilege to help you.
